An Obituary for Martha D. Stewart printed in The Midland Journal in Rising Sun, Maryland on October 30, 1908 reads: “Martha D. Stewart – Mrs. Martha D. Stewart died Friday at the home of her grand-daughter Mrs. Frank Peterson, at Strickersville, Pa., from heart failure, in her 67th year. Her maiden name was Dasart (sic) and she was a native of Cecil county being born in Appleton. She is survived by one son, William Stewart, of Providence, Cecil county. Funeral services were held at her late home Monday, with interment at Rosebank cemetery, Calvert.” [4]I was able to find Martha Dysert's death certificate and it lists Kathryn (sic Catherine), her granddaughter, as the informant. It also names Martha a widow.
Now the question is, who's William Stewart's father? From what I can trace about Martha Dysart's life, it's a little bizarre. It appears she gave birth to William Stewart at a young age, around seventeen years old. This is most certainly the Dysart family in the 1860 US Census, with Martha Dysart listed at 27 years old...there's a 'William Dysart' living with the family too, at precisely the age I know William Stewart to be. It's most likely him. That means Martha gave birth to him, as I said, around seventeen or eighteen, and now he's living as a member of the family under her maiden name. When did William Dysert become William Stewart, if this is indeed the case? Who's the father?

The Common Council voted 8-7 to continue with a site analysis, despite numerous pleas from residents to stop the process and protect the Peace Park from private development.
A conceptual site plan unveiled prior to the vote shows a new 30,000-square-foot museum and its parking lot situated at the southwest end of the 6-acre park. About half of the building would feature a walk-on green roof, including a quilt garden, that would be accessible from the park.
The museum development would consume 19% of the riverfront park. The remainder would be developed in accordance with the city's master plan for the park.

2022.08.15 22:03 pearl_squirrel91 Cold Case Solved : Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue Were Murdered in 1992 by Tony Haase Who Sought Revenge for His Father's Accidental Death in 1977 Involving Togstad's Father
Prosecutors say Haase murdered Togstad and Mumbrue because he blamed Togstad’s father for his father’s death 15 years earlier.
Togstad and Mumbrue were found stabbed to death in the bedroom of a home on a fire road in Royalton on March 22, 1992. Togstad’s dog was also stabbed to death. An autopsy showed Togstad, 23, was stabbed once in the chest. Mumbrue, 34, was stabbed multiple times in the head, neck and chest. They were dead for at least a day. Detectives found evidence of a struggle but no signs of a robbery or theft -- there were money and coins in sight atop the furniture.
Haase said when he was young, his father was racing with two other snowmobilers. One of them hit Haase’s father’s snowmobile, then the other snowmobile ran over him. Togstad’s father was one of the snowmobilers. His father died on New Year’s Eve, 1977. Investigators say Haase was 7 years old.
Haase went on to say on the night of March 20, 1992, he was going from bar to bar, getting into a drunken stupor, and started thinking about his father’s death. He went to Togstad’s house. He couldn’t say why, but he said he didn’t go to hurt anyone. He got into a fight with Mumbrue. Haase had a knife -- he couldn’t remember if he’d brought it or it was in the house -- and stabbed Mumbrue.
Togstad yelled and Haase punched her in the face, knocking her out. When she stirred, he stabbed her in the chest.
The criminal complaint says Haase was recently identified as a suspect but does not say why. A DNA sample was collected from a pen during a traffic stop and analyzed by the Wisconsin State Crime Lab. The DNA was consistent with bodily fluids recovered from Togstad’s body three decades ago."
