I recently started a government position and in my field those are rare, so I’m loving the benefits and job so far.
My issue is that my cubicle is just a cubby that was once used for storage in the hallway. All of my colleagues have offices in the Same hall even though they are remote a lot of the time (don’t even get me started on that.)
The people on this floor are nice and try to respect my area, but it’s right next to the kitchenette and entrance door. I often have to listen to people talk while they warm up their coffee or lunches, there is almost always someone right outside my cubicle doing something and I just find it so irritating. Probably why my coworkers work from home. I’m the new guy so it’s not an option for me.
My coworker who got the last office said he sat in my place for a decade before he got an office, so I should get comfy. He even said if we ever hired another person they would most likely be placed in my cube with me to share. I physically recoiled at the thought of that.
I tried headphones but all it did was make it so that I couldn’t tell who was talking to me from the other side of the wall, so then they’d walk into my area to get my attention. Plus as much as the office noise distracts me, headphones distract me more.
I’m thinking about asking my boss if I can move to a different part of the building entirely but idk if he’ll go for that. I don’t want to be stuck here for the next 10 years.
I’ve thought about requesting a sliding cubicle door which would give me privacy, but I would be the only one in the building with a closed door. Basically everyone leaves their door open All the time.

Ok....help me understand a few things here. I do not recall her talking about her grandpa or mentioning that he was ill or that he would be having surgery. Her being a sympathy seeker, I could TOTALLY see her mentioning it. Did she visit her grandpa in the hospital or someones home on Monday? Granted we dont know the details of what was wrong with him but, putting a sick elderly man under anesthesia for surgery is a very calculated risk. She couldn't make it in time to her grandpa's location before he passed AND wasn't allowed there anyway. To me....logically thinking, the only place he would have been after a surgery that day that she may not have been allowed into (due to restrictions on # of visitors) is an ICU unit. Unless hospitals still have Covid Era vistor restrictions in other areas The timing was JUST right, that she was able to get on FaceTime and watch him take his last breath? Was he removed from life support? Wouldnt the hospital allow family in the room for that despite vistor restrictions? How does that timing perfectly line up? Also, why on God's green earth would someone screen record that so they could look back on it someday and rewatch it? Who the fuck would want to do that, and who the fuck would stop and think...."hey, let me record this"? Why would she want to listen to that audio again and watch herself ugly cry? Wouldn't the memory burned into her brain of that moment be enough? Why in the ABSOLUTE FUCK would she decide to post that private moment in time for the WHOLE WORLD TO SEE? That video stayed up about as long as the water leak video. She must have gotten the hint that it was in POOR taste to post that. Especially AFTER she posted fancy dinner pics on IG. She wouldnt dare post a video of that dinner to Tiktok yesterday (but i bet she has one saved in drafts to post later). I do believe that he passed away...however, I do feel the "details" she gave were heavily embellished and all over the place. 7 years ago, I was in the room with my best friends family and her (teenage and younger) children, holding her hand and hugging her kids as she was removed from life support. I stood by her side as her heart beat for the very last time. I didn't want to watch that. I was there because, despite all the shit she had done to herself that lead to that moment, we had been friends for close to 25 years (even tho I was VERY displeased with her life choices the couple years prior). I wanted her to feel my presence & love and I wanted to be there for her kids, parents and sisters. That moment wasn't about ME, it was about HER and her family. It's an awful and raw memory to relive. Some of the things Jess does and says make NO sense. She gets so butthurt when people don't believe what she says. That's because she's been caught in so many lies, big & little, that people are skeptical of EVERYTHING. It's like the little boy who cried wolf. I wonder what her "stans" think now after she decided sharing that crying video would be a good idea after they saw her IG pics (I'm sure they follow her there too)? I think she is spiraling. Her content is shit and she's getting herself all tangled in the web of lies that she's made! It will interesting to see how everything plays out!

So basically, I was thinking about some butterfly effects, and I stumbled upon on if Tyson takes votes for Russell, instead of Parvati at the F15 of HvV: - Russell would go home instead of Tyson on the revote - James still goes home at the second tribal - I think there may be a chance that Parvati votes for Danielle in the next episode, sending Danielle out on a 4-3-1 vote, due to the villains splitting votes. - Heroes lose the next two challenges, resulting in Candice and Colby voted out in the next two tribals - Merge: Parvati most likely wins immunity for that round, JT is targeted, but then Rob is blindsided 9-1 for his pre-merge control - Jerri wins immunity at the F9, the villains have a split vote plan between JT and Amanda, but Parvati flips on the heroes and targets Tyson, resulting in him being blindsided in a 4-3-2 vote. - It’s 4-4 now, with Sandra, Courtney, Coach, and Jerri on one side, with Parvati, Rupert, Colby, and James on the other. Sandra’s side targets JT again, while Parvati’s side targets Jerri. Sandra plays her idol, JT plays his, resulting in Jerri being idoled out 4-0 - F7, Rupert wins immunity, Sandra is voted out that round - F6 & F5, Parvati wins immunity for both rounds, and Coach and Courtney are voted out. - F4, there’s a good chance that Parvati wins final immunity that round, and JT is voted out for that round - F3, more than likely Parvati wins the game So then Parvati becomes the two time winner, and more than likely replaces Sandra in Game Changers, to which I don’t think she’ll have it easy there.

I'm 25 years old, and last spring I made the decision to move out of state. I had lived on my own before, but when I made this choice I was living with my mom. I moved three states and 10 hours away, and got a job using my degree that I had never used before. I miss my friends. I miss my family. I have some family in this state but none I'm super close to. But it's mostly the friends - I am a very social person, and living alone in a new state, new job, new place has been extremely lonely and isolating. I have made one pretty good friend over the last year but it's not the same at all (who is an object of my personality disorder, but I won't get into that. The short is I have BPD and this person is taking the "favorite person" role in that). I miss my large social circle back home. It is making me depressed.
Honestly I had been considering it for awhile, but the nail in the coffin was spending memorial day with those hometown friends. I knew I missed them / was homesick, but that made it SO much worse.
I like the company I work for but I hate my job. It is my first job post graduation, and I have realized that I dislike the field I decided to go into when I was 18 and picking a college major. I hate office work, which I know isn't an unpopular opinion, but I felt so much more fufilled when I was doing my old job - which was bartending, which I had been doing since I was 18. I was making GREAT money (for bartending, I think the last year I did it I was gonna pull about 45k part time at a big nightclub in my city).
I have recently considered moving back in with my mom. I want to be around people I know again. I want to go back to bartending. I contacted my boss from my old nightclub job & told him what I'm considering. He told me that whenever I move, let him know and he will put me back on the schedule that day. He even made a facebook post on the bar's account to let people know I'll be back in a few weeks (even though I didn't say for sure, lol). I'm super conflicted, though.
Pros: Save money, be around friends and family again. Go back to job that actually made me happy. New career change, maybe start bartending full time and doing that as a career. go back to therapist that I had been seeing for years.
Cons: Massive paycut. Will miss my one friend a lot. Feel like I'm failing by not being able to stay in the new place. Moving in with mom. I have an AMAZING townhouse that I will likely not be able to afford a comparable thing to in old place. COL is much higher there
Mom thinks I'm blowing it cause I'm leaving a high paying job and she thought I liked it here. And I do, but I'm also severely depressed on top of it.
I dunno what to do. Guess I just want some advice or to talk about it.

With Season 5, we aim to address this gap with balancing the accuracy and dispersion of several categories of weapons. We have also made substantial changes to how the Concussion Grenade works in a couple of areas, based on distance to the player and in comparing the direction of the player upon grenade detonation. The effects of the Concussion Grenade are defined by Near, Far and Frontal scenarios. When it detonates within close range it will heighten the duration and intensity at the point of detonation. Beyond that near range, it will lead to a lessened duration and intensity. This effect is also decided and impacted by if the detonation takes place in front of the player.
Through telemetry and community sentiment, since moving the Prox Sensor out of the throwable slot and into the Gadget Selection field we have seen this gadget decline in relevance compared to the TUGs and other viable gadgets. We have made some adjustments to allow for the Prox Sensor to be an equally viable choice as part of your loadout.

Life was a lot of hard work as an adult BEFORE kids came along. There was already a lot of drudgery keeping up with a full time job and life in general. But add in a kid and its been pure chaos. The drudgery of life has multiplied 3x. I have a needy child always demanding my time, attention, patience and so much more. It never ends.
You end up losing the majority of the free time you once had. You’re constantly tending to their issues from the moment they wake up to the moment they fall asleep. You can no longer be spontaneous in life, you always have a kid attached to your hip and you have to always be cognizant of what you do because you need to plan and coordinate your life around their needs and schedule. As much as you can plan though, they are so fickle and unpredictable. One day they are in a bad mood just because, the next day they are sick because they picked up the latest virus at daycare, so much sickness that long ago I lost count of how many times we have all been sick. When you inevitably get sick from their germs you don’t get to just sit in bed and rest. You still need to parent and take care of your kid. Bonus points: They become moody and harder to take care of since they aren’t feeling well. Oh, also they sleep worse. It’s a sick triple whammy. (Let me further elaborate on sleep later because that’s a whole issue on its own) Getting them to do what you need them to do is a exercise in frustration. The amount of cajoling required to get a toddler to do basic tasks makes you wanna scream; especially after they refused to brush their teeth for the 5th time. Then, half the time when something isn’t to their liking the end up throwing a massive tantrum because they can’t control their emotions. You can only discipline to a small extent because they are still too young to truly understand. Sometimes they get mad enough that they throw things and slap you out of frustration. You get yelled at and slapped but you still need to maintain calm and composure. They don’t know any better so they make a mess of your home. They leave their toys all over the place (under the sofa, all over the floor) They go through clothes like no tomorrow so now you also have much more laundry to do, and a messy house to clean. You try to keep up but eventually you succumb to the mess, its just too much to try to keep it clean.
But let me go back to the topic of sleep because boy oh boy I gotta tell you, for those of us with the kids that have/had sleep issues we know acutely how much it messes with you. Some kids struggle with sleep. That was toddler for the first year and a half of his life. He woke up many times a night. The sleep deprivation was traumatizing. When you get disrupted sleep for months on end you start going crazy. You can’t even function properly during the day. I had a screamer so he’d wake up screaming in the middle of the night. Night after night, week after week for so so long.
In the midst of this, you still need to do everything a adult needs to do on the daily. In our modern society, we’re all busy enough as it is. And people wonder why many opt not to have children anymore…

The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.

At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. Hello all-american rejects, mothers of Stacy and Hoobastankarinas! It is finally time to rate one of the subgenres of all time - pop punk! Welcome to the 00s Pop Punk Rate.
No but really, despite the sendup of it MGK contributed, the subgenre actually has a long and storied history dating back to the 1970s. One could argue bands such as The Ramones were essential foundations for the genre, if not themselves being a pop punk band. A reaction to the emergence of punk in the 70s, pop punk takes the energetic thrashings of punk music and overlays the sensibilities of pop song-crafting. Pop-punk saw an explosion of popularity in the late 90s with the rise of bands such as Blink-182, Green Day and The Offspring, and arguably hit its peak in the 00s with the creation of Van’s Warped Tour, a touring music festival that featured a lineup of some of the biggest pop-punk, post-punk and metal acts of the time. Alongside its rise, it would come to incorporate elements of ska, college rock, emo and post-punk.
Another element of pop-punk that differentiates it from punk is its lyrical focus. While punk’s focus tends to be heavily political and explicitly anti-authoritarian, pop-punk trades that topical focus for poppier subjects - love, lust, drunkenness, and how much the singers truly hate this town (worth mentioning that while this is in general true, especially of more mainstream pop punk acts, there are some notable exceptions).
In discussions of subgenres of punk, pop-punk tends to be largely ignored or snidely dismissed by both pop and punk communities but I think this is unfair. Yes, its lyrical subjects are often sophomoric and steeped in teen angst. Yes, the pop focus can cause the songs to feel derivative for some punk listeners. Yes, the culture surrounding pop punk has given us moments that are unintentionally hilarious. However, there is a reason this genre gained such attention - to borrow a phrase from pop, because it slaps. It takes pop music and thrashes it around. It fills the listener with nostalgic angst with power chord after power chord. It is an ode to the immaturity of youth. It is wildly influential; you can see pop-punk’s fingerprints in tons of modern genres - emo rap, hyperpop, and even Billboard-smashing pop songs.

One thing (for me) that unites these albums, other than being three of my favourites from 2022, is their maximalism: Sudan, Kilo and Shygirl are all mixed media artists who have a clear creative vision for their work and these albums and eras are what they created when they were free of any societal or genre confinement.
Another thing the three of them having common is being black artists in alternative spaces, and how that reflects itself in their music. I think highlighting that they are black does a lot for representation and allowing people to see themselves in these genres, but on the flipside seeing someone only as a 'black artist' can be limiting, and these projects expertly break free of those labels and restrictions. These albums dance from genre to genre like they're going through themed rooms in a nightclub, and I'm so excited for everyone who loves them to get a chance to talk about them, and everyone who is unfamiliar to fall in love with them!

On the albums' title track she sings "In a locked box, in a locked draw, will I find me an American Girl", immediately jumping into the idea that as a black artist she doesn't identify with the idea of an 'american girl' that is presented to us, instead that her own american girl is locked up inside of her. On my personal favourite bonus track Star Power, Kilo tackles fame and trying to make it in LA, and how endless that feels. Kilo ponders the idea that in such a capatlist world we consume so many different things, when you strip that all away, what of that actually is you?
The album couldn't be more of a 180 from her debut album six years prior, Reflections in Real Time, an alternative r&b and indie album that is equal parts manifesto and intimate diary. Where in her previous work she opted for minimalism, now is the time for all out maximalism. The use of bright, campy consumerism and Americanism allows Kilo to reflect on fears that are both unanimous and extremely personal: Am I pretty enough? Am I good enough? Why can't I do what somebody else is doing?

Nymph is actually a very different debut from Shygirl than what we could've got - she more or less made a record over lockdown, in a similar vein to her fan favourite ep ALIAS, but felt like it was too easy. "If I don't give myself that space to myself, no one is! No one's gonna expect me to do anything else." and thank god she did give herself that challenge, because Nymph is the perfect evolution of Shygirl's character and sound. Taking strong influence from 00's garage and r&b, tracks like the lead Firefly bring the sound into the 2020's with added hyperpop flourishes. Much like Sudan and Kilo, Shygirl is very much a sole visionary, but she has a star studded team of producers behind her to help bring her vision to life consisting of Bloodpop, Danny L Harle, Mura Masa and longtime collaborator and friend Sega Bodega. Album opener Woe is a haunting telling of fame and expectations, with Shygirl singing "When will you see it from my side?". I actually saw Shygirl at the tail end of last year at Printworks in London, which if you're unfamiliar, was a sweaty, gay warehouse used for all kinds of raves and gigs, and I truly can't imagine a setting where Shygirl's music is better suited.
Shygirl also is on a mission to reclaim her own body from everyday misogyny, with Coochie (a bedtime story) being a playful, nursery rhyme esque track about women's bodies and battling the idea that they are weird or undesirable. But of course the overarching theme and imagery of the album is that of a woodland nymph, inspired by romanticism work like Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D’Urbervilles. Nymph as a record is not an attempt to rebrand Shygirl's image, but add depth to it - she can be a provocative, industrial rapper just as well as she can be an ethereal, sensitive artist, and there's no need to limit herself to one or the other.

I was really into music and sound production, so in the past I've owned some good equipment. However, I had to scale down, and for the last couple of years I've been stuck with basic earphones and a cheap gaming headset. Now I'm looking to upgrade again, but am completely out of date with regards to what are considered good deals. I'm looking for the following: Headset for commute: Priorities are 1) ANC, 2) comfort 3) sound quality, in that order. If they would be practical for use at the gym too that would be great, but I can stick with the cheap ones I already have for that scenario - mainly just listening to podcasts etc. while working out anyway. I've been considering most of Sony's offerings, up to and including the WH-1000XM4, and the newer BOSE headsets. 1000XM4 sounds pretty much perfect, I'm just not sure if I want to spend that much, considering that I'm also looking for a... Headset for gaming & music listening at home: Priorities: 1) Sound quality, 2) comfort. 3) microphone (optional). I'd like it to be open back, both for the wider soundstage and since unlike when commuting I don't want to be completely isolated from my surroundings at home. Here I've mostly been looking at the Sennheiser range. I'm mainly playing single player games, so microphone and awesome latency is not a big deal, but nice to have of course. Music wise I listen to pretty much any genre, but probably mostly rock, indie and instrumental (classic, post-rock etc.). Rather a warmer than a too clinical sound if I have to choose. So, to sum it up - would it be best to go for f.ex. the WH-1000XM4 for commute and something cheaper for home, is there a cheaper option for commute so that I can splurge for the home headset, or do I just need to save up enough for quality headsets both places? But recently my mate got into the nasty habit of smoking cigarette butt's from the floor. Like. Other people's cigarette butts. From the pavement.
I watched him do this yesterday and felt a bit sick from seeing him do it, so I told him to wait at the park we were at, and I ran to the shops and bought a pack of cheap smokes. I don't remember what brand they were, B&H's or something. And I went back to the park where he was.
When I got there, a friend of his [F19] was there. Me and this girl never got along too well for select reasons, but I digress.
I went up to my mate and threw the smokes at him and said "quit smoking shit from the floor. I'm not buying you any more."
After this his friend chimes in and has a go at me for like 10 minutes telling me I'm "encouraging a bad habbit" and "getting my friend addicted".
Like...Ma'am this man is an adult. He can make his own choices, I'm just trying to prevent him getting ill buy being stupid.
I said this to her. It didn't work. She kept yelling until my friend told her to shut up and that I wasn't encouraging everything. Hi all,
I picked up my first pair of Dumbo Rats yesterday and I am a little worried about one of them. While her sister has explored her cage well, she's being a little more reluctant. For the past 24 hours she has been home, she has been sat in the corner of the top shelf (next to the food bowls and water feeder) - she is drinking and eating well. She hasn't gone down to the other levels or floor where the nesting box is which is what is worrying me most. I know new rats can take a while to settle into their new homes but this is just making me very concerned for her. Any advice?
I've been considering moving the food bowls down the second level (visible from the platform she is on) to try to coax her out, but I would like some advice from seasoned rat keepers before I try anything.
