2023.03.29 07:36 mj_paintndesign Exterior Painters in Palm Beach Gardens

Everybody wants their house to look the best. The only way to do it is by quality exterior painting. It creates a lasting impression of the house. Select colors that best fit your home aesthetics. Look for neighboring houses to ensure your new paint won't clash. Choose neutral colors like grey and white, which is a good option. As you have invested quite a bit in painting your house, its value will not diminish. Keeping the outside of your house sharp is the best way to enhance the value of your house. It will also increase its resale value. Check out the Exterior Painters in Palm Beach Gardens if you are looking for professional painters.

2023.03.29 07:21 Consistent-Pen-9134 Best DLP game plan with two kids (4yo and 2yo)

Hi guys! Some info: We’re going to DLP for 2 days in June and our family (me, my hubby, our 2 kids 4yo/2yo, my sister and sister in law) staying at Davey Crockett. We drive with our own cars. We arrive on a Thursday morning, do early check-in at DC and drive to DLP. Friday we have the full day. I haven’t been since I was a teen, so I honestly have no clue where to start.
Our son loves all the Disney classics (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Buzz Lightyear, Tarzan) and our little girl loves basically everything, Frozen included ;-) We, the adults, are mostly looking forward to the food, haha. Also, I love Ratatouille and The Little Mermaid (nostalgia for me) and we love shopping at the Disney Stores. We are not into the Avengers and such.
So, what’s the best game plan for us in terms of exploring vs. eating?
I was thinking: give the kids something pre-packed to eat in the morning instead of doing a sit-down breakfast, so we can start both days early as possible. The adults can get Starbucks with something sweet for breakfast. Then we’ll explore the park (2yo can nap in buggy) until lunch time, and again I was thinking to get some food on the go instead of finding a sit-down spot somewhere. For dinner, I was thinking to make reservations for both afternoons around 17:00 so we can chill a bit before we go watch the parade. However, I now see the parade is at 17:30 so that might not be the greatest idea..
Some must-sees I have saved in the app: Dragon under the Castle It’s a small world Aladdin themed Disney shop Le passage enchante Aladdin Mat Hatter cups Peter Pan Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast Ratatouille Pirate’s beach
Also we’d like to at least visit one show, which one would you recommend? Should we buy tickets already?
So, what would you advise us in terms of game plan for the day, food breaks, must-visits and other tips & tricks? Thank you so much in advance.

2023.03.29 06:57 GremiMan 32/M/USA - Funny, passionate, agnostic dad, seeking friend(s) abroad with similar interests!

Good day to you all,
As my title informs, I'm 32, a Dad and I like many things; most prominent joys listed. The love I have, where those interests are concerned, would be most difficult to conjure words able to truly describe the level of my passions. But, alas, that which I seek is more. I'm a lifelong fan of the written word and the intricacies and power of words and language itself. This is what brings me to this thread.
Professionally, I own several companies that I no longer run, and I am a local TV personality and a media/arts consultant. The work I do and the projects I endeavor into are nothing short of amazing (though admittedly, I'm biased). I enjoy writing, food, photography, living life to the fullest, and finding beauty in all things; ordinary AND exceptional.
While traveling, I can be found, many a morning, atop a bench in a park, unplugged from the world, focus beamed at the strangers who pass. Forming stories and intricate lives for them based on a brief glimpse, or overheard words not meant for my ears. I believe imagination, and an eagerness to use it, can be one of the things most positively impactful to our longterm quality of life.
I find the ability to disconnect from the devices and the electrical grip of our modern world to be among the most empowering and important actions we can take for our mental and spiritual health.
So why post this here? It is with eager hopefullness that I cast my line into these waters before as much as a simple toe test, but the idea struck that it may be possible for me to find a special type of friend here. One who appreciates similar pastimes. One who understands the importance of experiencing life for the ride it is. One who does not struggle to turn a phrase, but rather launches into action at the opportunity.
Geographically, I do not mind whether I find this new friend here in the states or abroad, however I feel as though abroad might be more of a magical experience mutually. It is merely my intent to find the perfect match of a "penpal". Someone who I can discuss Food and Travel with. Someone who appreciates fine art and striking Photography. Someone with an eclectic taste in music. Someone who loves Outlander is likely to be bumped to the top of the pile (though it's not a deal-maker in/of itself).
In an effort to fine-tune the results I hope to receive from this, below is a list of "likes", and "dislikes". My ideal pen-match would likely align with these at a rate of eighty percent or higher, based on the math and statistics I just made up in my head at this moment 😜
I extend my thanks in advance and look forward to possibly making your acquaintance.
LIKES: Family Gatherings - Music in Literally Every Genre (except death metal) - Cooking (and eating) - Period Dramas (specifically Outlander and Downton Abbey) - Comedy - Travel - Gardening - The Universe and deep non-religious spiritual discussion - Real Art and the History and Meaning within - History - Deep Conversation and Debate
DISLIKES: Politics - Narcissists - Reality TV - Celebrity Gossip - Winter (after the first few weeks) - Things/People who waste my (or other's) Time - Religious Conversation
Let the games begin.
All the best,
GM

2023.03.29 06:49 Mission-Egg794 The Day I Thought I Won The Lottery

I used to think success was driving down a beach-front highway having to choose between breathing in the new car smell from your convertible, or putting the top down for some salt air.
1 week ago, I had neither of those choices and today the very thought of beach air and new car smell makes me fucking sick.
Before I get into this, let me be clear: this is not a confession of guilt for anything I’ve done. I never wanted all this shit. From the very start it was only about one thing: Getting my son, James a birthday present.
I wasn’t even trying to get him the BEST or the BIGGEST or the most EXPENSIVE birthday present. Just
A present. The present I set out to get.
But instead...
I went to the 7/11 on Santa Monica and bought a MegaMillions lotto ticket.
My name is Daniel Baxter, and this is the day I thought I won the lottery.

April 8, 2022 – 2:03AM
It’s 2 o’clock in the morning and I’m at the Hollywood Casino. I’ve got every penny to my name spread across the craps table and some dickhead on his bachelor party holds the dice of fate in his clammy little hands.
My last 3 meals have been from discarded room service trays at LAX Hilton, my truck doesn’t start without a prayer and the tires have been leaking air for the last month which is fine because now I know the location of every free air filling station in LA County.
If I’d paid my phone bill, it’d be buzzing a crater in my leg from my ex, Lenora, asking if I’d picked up our son’s birthday gift with the $200 she gave me.
“Gave me” isn’t quite the right term. She handed it to me with a scowl then told me “if you gamble this shit you’ll never fucking see him again.” Things had been tense lately.
But none of that matters because this guy’s been hot and it’s with his help that I’ve turned that 200 hundred into almost 3 grand. The only question is; are the rhythms with me or not?
Maybe you call it God. Maybe you call it Karma or the natural vibe of the earth or mercury or whatever. When the rhythms are on, everything goes your way. You crush your yearly review at work and get the raise you’re after or you’re at some party and you’ve got everyone eating outta the palm of your hand.
Most things are math. Craps is math. Poker is math. Phone bills are math. Divorce rates are math and if I keep having to eat off of room service trays, the likelihood of me waking up with diarrhea is math.
It’s all just probability. But when the rhythms are on, the probability doesn’t matter. You could take a 1 and a million shot back-to-back and hit it twice. That’s what the rhythm can do for you.
Summer of 2018 I was up over 2 million. I couldn’t lose a hand of blackjack, I couldn’t crap out if I tried, I couldn’t say the wrong thing to Lenora and every time I walked into the room my son, James, would light up like a fucking lantern.
It used to be me and Lenora at the tables. The place was always open, the food is fine and the drinks are free. If we weren’t at the tables we were in the lounge talking Black Jack strategy or in the bar talking game theory or hanging out at the slots like a couple’a mice pressing a button and waiting for the cheese to pop out.
Sometimes it’s nice to be a mouse. I’ve got rats in my house. They don’t pay rent or go food shopping. All they have to do is avoid eating a piece of death cheese or poison and honestly that’s not too far off from how I live anyways.
When we had James, things changed though. As Lenora put it “risking your son’s dinner isn’t chasing something it’s chasing nothing.” And I guess the 45-minute commute to the Hollywood wasn’t a valuable use of her time. Lots of people commute to work even longer. When I was working at Goldman, I commuted an hour and a half each way from Connecticut. Granted I was on a train but the point is we all commute to work.
It was nice having her here. It was nice seeing James with a smile. It was nice to check my bank account and feel a life raft around me, rather than a black hole forming in my bellybutton.
But the rhythms shifted.
Now it’s just me here next to Lenny with the beard, Jackie with the cigar and Jonie who’s been serving drinks here so long her face should be on the highway billboards. After Lenora broke it off with me she got together with Kelton who works for a hedge fund which (for the record) is still gambling. He’s just doing it with other people’s money.
James’ 9th birthday is three days away. He wants an iPad and soon as I cash out, I’ll be able to pick one up, maybe kick some back to Lenora and spread some cash around to the litany of people I’m on the hook to.
I’m one big night away from wiping it all out. I just need one hit. One night of pure rhythm... and I’ll be back.
The shooter shakes the dice in his hand then tosses ‘em. I watch them clack on the table walls below me, but before they even settle on the pass line, I can already feel the star implode in my stomach.
In a flash, my hard work is raked away by some new guy named Carl with a moustache and not a single ounce of sympathy.
The party’s at Lenora (and Kelton’s) which was fine because honestly, I didn’t just have rats.
The rats came in chasing the cockroaches but when a bunch of them got into my Cadbury Mini Egg stash and died under the living room floor, a pack of fleas picked the carcass clean before making their way into the carpet above. So, yeah...at the moment I have fleas, cockroaches and rats. I had a bug bomb guy coming in a couple days but things were gonna be a little itchy until then.
It's three days until the party. I’ve got no gift and if I show up without that 200 bucks I may never see my kid again.

April 8, 2022 – 6:32AM
There’s only so much you can do on a security guard’s salary and being paid $12 an hour to guard millions of dollars in Mercedes automobiles is hilarious. What am I supposed to do if some guy comes in to steal a car? Lay my life on the line and hope my out-of-pocket HMO covers bullet wounds?
I don’t even have dental. I got a root canal that needed to be recapped 10 minutes after it was put in.
I’ve been on Mr. Jenkins about a raise but he keeps telling me “we gotta sell more cars, Davey,” as if I’m the one selling cars. I’m a fucking security guard what the hell’s that gotta do with me? Last I checked it was my job to keep cars on the lot and getting them off was yours.
Jenkins owns every car dealer on Van Nuys. Maybe you’ve seen his ads on TV where he slides into frame wearing a suit while riding a surfboard just to say “COME ON DOWN!” He can afford to buy a surfboard for tv ad that has no mention of surfing or aquatic sports of any kind but he can’t pay me an extra $3 an hour so I can re-introduce cold foods to my diet.
I spend most of my shift eyeing the mint green on onyx black SLS convertible they keep in the lobby. It’s flashy but it’s got a nut sack under the hood so you know you could back it up if you went toe-to-toe with some clown at a red light. Sometimes I just stare at it but I never touch it. I only wanna touch it when it’s mine. Which it would be...
Maybe I could steal it and sell it to get the iPad and some other shit. I know all the codes but then again I wouldn’t need the whole car. The thing costs half a mill. Maybe I could lift a rear-view mirror. Who would notice? Then again with the way the rhythm’s set I’d probably bump into the fucking FBI on the way out.
I’ve been doing my best to get things together but the cards aren’t falling my way and there’s not much you can really do about that. I’ve been going to the Hollywood for 15 years so I know I’m due for a run.
Me and Lenny talking about this all the time at the lounge. Sometimes you’re on the downbeat and sometimes you’re on the upbeat. Lately I feel like it’s been all downs but the thing about being a father though, is that you’re not the only one on that ride.
It used to be that I could take a few down weeks or months even. Sleep in the car, call the landlord and talk them out of breaking down the door but when you got a kid everything changes. You suffer, he suffers. Lately Lenora’s been paying for that but you see she keeps a tally. She says she doesn’t but she does.
Every time she has to pay for something she looks at me like I’m the biggest piece of shit then says “It’s ok, David.” Which it really isn’t.
The fees and stuff aren’t the real problem. It’s being able to take James out and take care of him. She wants to take that away from me and honestly I don’t blame her.
Last week my card got declined trying to pay for ice cream. James had already eaten half of his and the lady made us give it back. He didn’t talk to me the whole way home then 2 days later Lenora told me James didn’t really like spending time with me anymore. A week after that she filed for sole custody and told me they were thinking about moving to Chicago. Who the fuck would want to live there? It’s cold as fuck and the people are assholes.

April 8, 2022 – 12:20PM
I do pickups for a porta-john company on the side. It’s just temporary. I don’t clean the shit I just spray down the units and suck out cans and shit with a wet-vac before this guy named Pete sticks a hose in the back and drains the whole thing out.
I’m always surprised by what people put on the walls of a john. Usually it’s just drawings like hearts and shit but sometimes the rhythm finds you there too. One time I spotted a phone number Sharpied on a toilet seat but it was missing 1 number. 8 digits. Kinda like 4 roulette numbers right?
I took em to the Hollywood and won 5 grand on one roll! Hasn’t worked again for me yet... but that’s the thing about it man.
But today I’m cleaning out a row of johns after some music festival which by the way is far and away the worst clean ups to get. Sure you see these kids all cleaned up online in some tweed outfit or some shit but you should see the shit that comes out of these kids. It’s like paving tar with glitter and red bull cans.
I look down in the last john I’m hosing down and I see something. Peaking out of the mounds I see: a $20 bill.
I stared at it for a second but I could hear Pete coming down the line about to suck it into oblivion. I never seen cash in the john before. Sometimes you hear a coin clank through the hose but a 20 bill just staring you right in the face?
I did what any man would do. I grabbed it and when I pulled my hand out I was half expecting it to be missing a layer of skin.
Later I’m sitting in the truck staring at this 20 bucks thinking “why would this come to me?” There had to be a reason. It wasn’t just on the floor of some john. It was in the last john after the nastiest event at a time when all I needed was one shot.
It was the rhythm.
But having to do that for just $20 didn’t add up. There had to have been a greater purpose and you know what they say about money. You don’t let it sleep. You wanna get that money out and get it working.
Craps kicked my teeth in this morning and you can’t do shit with 20 bucks on a blackjack table. I had to think bigger.
Then I’m driving home from work and I see the 7/11. Powerball was at 2.11 BILLION. The biggest in history. If you got all 6 numbers right you got the whole chicken. If you got 5 you got just shy of 8 million bucks. Boom.
I had my usual numbers but this wasn’t a usual day. I told the cashier to give me “all randoms today.” 10 slips at $2 each.
That night I sat down on my couch waiting for the Powerball to come on tv... then I blacked out.
The next thing I knew I was staring at 6 numbers lit up on my tv screen: 08, 07, 14, 29, 40, 16
And on my slip: 08, 07, 14, 29, 40, 22
I had 5 out of 6 numbers. I’d just won 8 million dollars

April 9, 2022 – 9:01AM
I’m standing in line at the California Lottery Offices. It’s not some huge expansive place. It’s a shitty little line up of people with various ailments trying to dispute their $5 winning ticket.
My mind is racing. Who do I pay back first? Do they give me the cash here? Is it in a duffel bag? When do I have to hold that big ass check? Do I wear a mask? I saw a guy do it in a scream mask once to maintain his anonymity. Honestly it might be nice to be seen. Not only has everyone seen me as a piece of shit forever but also I haven’t exactly kept a detailed list of everyone I owe money to.
It’d be good for people to just hit me up, I can cut a check and tell them “thanks for your patience.” Maybe I’d even give them a little off the top as a tip.
The guy a the counter basically spat in my face; “It’s gotta be reviewed. Takes 2-5 days. We’ll email you a link to collect any winnings.” It was like I just accused him of something. No congratulations or anything which at first, I was pissed about but then I realized that clearly I wasn’t the first asshole who thought they won the lottery.
Except I really did. 2-5 days was nothing. I’d been living in the shit for years I could do another few days.
Stepping outside, everything looked the same. The air wasn’t purer or the sunlight any more sunlightier and I still had to fill up my tires at the Shell on Cahuenga. There’s something about being rich without actually having any appearance of being rich.
That secret alone is like having a bomb in your pocket. People treat you regular, they smile and make conversation but deep down you think...if I pulled this out I could kill you with it.
But when people do think you have money, the more of it they give you.
I rolled in the doors of the Hollywood like I always did. Lenny called me a bullshitter, Jackie barely even put her cigarette down and Jonie didn’t even bring me a drink because I didn’t actually have any money on the table. I didn’t even have money in my pocket. I’d spent it all on the Megamillions and I hadn’t eaten since perusing the halls for leftover room service the night before.
Then news hit. My face was on every TV in the place. “Local man wins 8 million dollar jackpot.”
I checked my phone to see if it was blowing up, then remembered I still hadn’t paid the bill in months. So I was good there.

April 9, 2022 – 11:11AM
If you’ve ever been on a casino floor you know that it’s never silent. But I swear to God if you were on the floor when that news hit, you could’ve heard the rats eating my Mini Eggs 20 miles away. Everyone’s eyes were trained on me. For a second I even felt all the security cams shift over in my direction.
I couldn’t stand being on the floor with nothing to play with so Lenny set me up with his guy who got me a little walking around money. Japanese guy who I met in a Burger King across the street. Weird dude. Not sure what his name was.
I didn’t wanna go too nuts so I just took out a small loan. 50k at 20 points. I thought about it for a second then realized I didn’t really give a shit about the interest. 10 grand to me in a week doesn’t mean nearly as much as 50 does now. It’s just value proposition. It would have been stupid NOT to take out the loan honestly.
Walking into the casino with 50 grand in my pocket and slamming it down on the table feels a lot like taking out your dick at an orgy only when your dick comes out it’s a 60 foot cigarette boat with flames painted on the side.
But then I learned what I remembered years ago. Losing money and gaining money at that point meant almost nothing.
So losing 2 grand a hand wasn’t such a big deal because I could be making 5 on the next. That’s why I needed a little more when I lost the full 50.
Another 100k or so at another 20 points should do the trick.
It didn’t take long to realize that both winning and losing money meant almost nothing to me. So I ventured out.
A tailored suit for me (ready in 2-3 days on a rush).
An iPad for James with all the bells and whistles.
6 dozen roses sent to Lenora’s house signed “your secret admirer.” just to fuck with Kelton.
A watch for me, Lenny and Jodie.
Some special cigar Jackie had always been eyeing.
New pairs of Nikes for all of us.
And a limousine to my dentist’s office.
I paid in cash for the cap replacement, they gave me some pills and told me not to mix them with alcohol but honestly I was a little distracted by the old molar cap sitting on the table. I had an idea.
“Are you gonna just throw that away?” I asked her.
By now I realized I didn’t have a phone to receive my winnings via email. So, I stopped a guy in the lobby and paid him 2 grand cash for his before popping a few pills and slugging some champagne in the limo.
There was barely enough time to sit back and relax. I had a lifetime of debt and yearning for shit to burn through.
We made it to the Mercedes dealership but the pain killers kicked in and I could barely feel my hands as they ran across the SLS’s mint green paint. Bummer.
Jenkins sauntered over asking if I was working today and all I remember saying was “I want it.” He scrunched his eyebrows in confusion, so I put the remaining cash I had down on the table and said it again. “I WANT IT.”
They ran my credit (which was dog shit. Didn’t matter) and I looked Jenkins in his fat little face again and said “I don’t give a fuck.” He sold it to me, financed at 25 percent interest. Then when he went to fetch my paperwork and keys I took a shit on his desk, shoved the molar cap and a $20 bill in it before using his jacket to wipe my ass. Felt right. Don’t really know why.
I had walked into the CA lottery offices at 9am to start the review process on my ticket’s authenticity.
By 11am, I was watching news break from the Hollywood Casino.
By 10pm I had accrued more debt than a small country.
I hadn’t received a dime from the lotto.
And I needed more walking around money.

April 10, 11, 12 – who the fuck knows what time
The next few days were a blur but there are a few things I’ll never forget.
Quitting my job.
Hiring the limo for the week.
Trying to shit after 3 days of having nothing but fast food, champagne and pain killers.
Fielding questions at the party from Kelton’s asshole friends who told me “lotto rich isn’t real rich.”
And the heat of my house burning to the ground as James and I stood there watching with a can of gas in our hands.
He didn’t even want the iPad.
The rhythms were sliding back. James had that smile plastered back in his face and even Lenora was happy to see me.

April 16, 7:35AM
“Dear Mr. Baxter. Congratulations! You’ve successfully matched FOUR of six winning numbers. Below please find a link to collect your winnings of $10,000.”
I read it over and over again. Over and over and over.
When I called the offices an nice woman on the phone informed me that due to a printing malfunction the ticket had appeared to show the number 8 when in fact it was a 6.
They even managed to maintain a sense of excitement. I mean why wouldn’t they? They think I just won $10,000. They had no idea I’d bought a car I couldn’t afford, burned my house down, taken a shit on my boss’ desk, maxed out 3 new credit cards and borrowed a inordinate amount of money from people at a borderline illegal interest rate.
The limo company took my ride away and with no home I’ve spent the last 2 days parked on the Pacific Coast Highway, sleeping in the brand new Mercedes I can’t afford, in a suit I shouldn’t have bought, showering in the YMCA down the street, and eating 2-day-old coconut shrimp.
All of a sudden I’m fucked again. But as I stare out at the Pacific, my phone dings. It’s an alert from the Chase banking app. My lotto winnings of $10,000 have just hit my account and the only question is...
Are the rhythms with me or not?

2023.03.29 06:42 Pokonoze ZACK RYDER IC TITLE RUN PART 1:

Hey guys I have a couple story lines I thought I'd share this story line is on Zack Ryder after winning the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 32. It starts on the Raw after Wrestlemania and ends at Extreme Rules. let me.know what you guys think
PART 1: RAW AFTER WRESTLEMANIA April 4, 2016
SEGMENT 1:ZACK RYDER AND MIZ. LOCKER ROOM HALLWAY Through the parking lot doors a smiling Zack Ryder, wheeling along luggage and the Intercontinental TItle over his shoulder walks through the locker room hallway. His smile goes away as we see The Miz standing in front of his locker room door. Miz- just the man I was looking for. Zack Ryder- What do you want? Miz- Whoa what's the hostility? I mean it's not like I was the one who sneaked up behind you and knocked you off the ladder right? Zack gives Miz a mean look. Miz- But that's in the past, look I'm actually here because I want to celebrate you. I mean what a Hollywood story. It's almost like it was written for the movies and I couldn't think of a better place to tell that story than on the most must see-talk show in WWE history, Miz TV. Now I know you have a title Match against Kevin Owens but I would love to have you on the show to truly make you the star you really are. Zack Ryder- Really? Miz- Ya really it would be my honor. Miz pats Zack on the shoulder and eyes the title. Miz- It looks good on ya Champ. Miz walks away as Zack watches confused. Michael Cole-That's not like the Miz we know. JBL- Shut up Michael the man is a humble A List celebrity. He knows a good story when he sees one. The mere fact he has even asked Zack to share the same ring as him will sky rocket Zack up the list. Michael Cole - Well I don't know about that but tonight Zack Ryder will have his first title defense against the former Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens. Shane granted Owens a rematch after claiming Sami Zayn cost him the match.
SEGMENT 2:MIZ AND ZACK RYDER AND DOLPH ZIGGLER. IN RINGMIZ TV Miz stands in the ring with his Miz TV set up. Miz- Ladies and gentlemen i have been honored to interview someone with one of the greatest stories in this business. A true underdog who never gave up. I welcome your new Intercontinental Champion, Zack Ryder. Zack Ryder comes out and joins Miz in the ring. The crowd starts to chant "You deserve it" Zack Ryder- Thank you! Miz- You really do deserve it Zack and if I learned one thing about this business. It's the WWE Universe who pick the champions and I think they picked the right one. Zack Ryder- Well thank you Miz I mean I really didn't think I would be on Miz TV if I were to be honest. No offense but I kind of feel like you're up to something. Miz- laughing Zack, see you're a natural. I can see you on other shows speaking to Conan or Jimmy Fallon. Zack this very interview could start up a movie career you always wanted. You could be a A lister just like me. Now. Enough about what's next. Let's talk about how you got here. How did a guy from a poverty struck place like Long Island end up becoming Intercontinental Champion? Zack Ryder- Well first off I want to thank my father who is sitting in the front row. his father waves from the crowd to cheers If it wasn't for my dad taking me to Madison Square Garden to watch WWE and telling me to follow my dreams, I don't think a Zack Ryder would even exist….. Dolph Ziggler music hits interrupting Zack. Dolph walks down to the ring. Dolph Ziggler- Stop the sob story. No one wants to hear your story Zack. You got lucky. You know everyone talks about how they were the underdog and climbed to the top, I've done that time after time after time again. And I'm always looked at as the underdog. No matter how many times I put my body on the line for you people. It's never enough. Zack, you will be a one hit wonder. And if you don't lose tonight to Kevin Owens by some fluke. I'll be waiting in line to show the world and your dad you don't have what it takes to be the Intercontinental Champion. Zack and Dolph stare down. Miz goes to break them up. Miz- Alright guys this is a tall show. No one will be fighting here. Zack Ryder backs away from Dolph. Dolph goes to load up a super kick when Miz pushes Zack out of the way and takes the kick instead. Dolph rolls out the ring taunting Zack Ryder as Zack checks on the Miz starring on angered and confused.
SEGMENT 3:KEVIN OWENS V. ZACK RYDER(C) >INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The finish of the match, Owens goes to pop up PowerBomb Zack. Zack punches Owens while sitting on his shoulder and Hurricaneranas Owens into the referee causing the referee to be knocked out. As Owens gets back up. Zack goes for a RoughRyder where Owens reverses it into a pop up PowerBomb. Kevin Owens goes for the cover but realizes the Ref is down. Owens goes to check on the Ref. As he turns Sami Zayn runs in and closelines Owens. As Owens rolls in the corner. He pulls himself up and leans against the turnbuckles, where Sami Zayn gives him a Helluva Kick. Sami leaves the ring. Zack gets up and sees Owens laying flat on the mat. Zack climbs the top rope and gives Owens the Elbrodrop. The Ref comes to and pins for the 1 2 3. Zack Ryder successfully defends the Intercontinental Championship

2023.03.29 05:42 No_Butterscotch_26 Mindless Meanderings of a Fool

Because JJ is taking some much needed time off reviewing and providing his insights into COI, I thought I would provide something in the meantime. I would not call it filling in for JJ, as I am hardly at his level. I’m more like the unofficial side show for this week- providing (hopefully) some humor to help you come to grips with the shit that was spewed by Rick and the gang this week. While I have not had any Skyrizi cocktails, I do randomly call 1-800 numbers and ask them to check my ZIP code. Maybe that qualifies me for this role? I don’t know. But let’s get on with the pain.
We start off this week at the Garden Shaft. Which is this season’s location of the money pit. Craig and Scott are talking to one of the Dumas workers about their progress. They’re at 67 feet and probing for a gold spot along the way. Typical men, working in a new hole and not knowing where the g-spot is at. Clotworthy spews some junk about how significant the garden shaft is because of material dating back 60 years before the discovery of the money pit, and how the garden shaft is located in the “Treasure Zone”, which I’m guessing is the forthcoming name of the Oak Island theme park. Scott says something, but I wasn’t paying attention. Then again, he never says anything important, anyway. So, who cares. Dude has more speaking roles this season than our beloved Billy. Side note: I do find it funny that we’re supposedly in the original money pit, and there’s no talk or concern about the flood tunnels. You know, the fucking tunnels we wasted seasons looking for? Throwing dye into them… Building a fucking damn in the cove. Of course, the flood tunnel theories fell flat. But they won’t acknowledge that, or fess up that maybe all these theories are total bull. Instead, they’ll conveniently mention nothing of it and toss more shit into the frey to keep you off balanced. And, hope you’re more concerned about your moderate to severe plaque psoriasis to notice.
Our next scene is at the quadrilateral. For those of you who don’t know, this is Prometheus’ latest tangent to fill needless episodes. Supposedly, it was mentioned in Dead Nolan’s book, which the Alive Nolan decided to reveal for the first fucking time on the previous episode (I’m sure the book will be published soon, with a forward by Rick. Another book for the kooks to cite and come up with new BS theories to waste our time for the next 5 seasons, at least). Rick, Tom Nolan, “and the rest” as Clotworthy put it (Billy and Gary), are at the Quadrilateral. And thankfully, we are about to get some Billy excavating time. It’s mentioned how the quadrilateral has a mysterious group of boulders on it. I don’t know what’s so mesmerizing about the boulders. And the quadrilateral looks like the state of Nevada, which has a ton of boulders. So, I’m not impressed here. As the digging starts, they uncover “little sticks” which are cut and burnt. This leads to our first wild speculation of the week. Because these little burnt sticks are similar to the ones found under the stone pathway by the swamp, instantly this means that the quadrilateral is made by the people who made the stone pathway. We’re then shown flashbacks to when the crew took a pointless trip to Portugal to look at a stone road. And told once again how the two are so similar and there must be a Portuguese connection to them. They keep digging and Billy notices some clay. Some blue clay. And blue clay was found when they were fucking around in the money pit area and swamp a few seasons ago. We’re then led into our first commercial break. And thank god, because I need slam my head into the desk a few times. It’s bad enough watching this show. Having to then write about it? Fuck me. I’m only doing this one week.
OK. I’m a little dizzy, but we return to the quadrilateral. We got serious Clotworthy bs time. Blue clay in the money pit, swamp, and now in the quadrilateral! So obviously, it’s all connected. That’s now an Oak Island fact. They bring in the Geologist turd guy for 10 seconds to add some sort of authority to this BS claim. But, I’m over this guy. No geologist would let them get away with saying that limestone cavities underground have to be manmade. Fuck off, Rocks for Jocks dude. After he’s pushed to the side, we then get the other quack scientist, Dr. Spooner. I used to like this guy initially. He seemed grounded. Stayed in his lane. But between his water testing, and even dating a fucking nail, this dude is just another sellout on the show who’ll say anything to keep Prometheus happy. He analyzes the clay and finds some more burnt wood. He surmises it cannot be natural. Rick jumps in to say that because there were boulders, it means this is obviously a “safe” and there is something significant below. Of course, he doesn’t want to dig. He wants to wait for Tom Nolan and do more investigating. I’m going to go off on a tangent here, but…
I swear, Rick maybe the entire fucking problem with this crew. Let’s not forget folks, he was a postman, aka, GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE. In other words, he gets nothing done but spends a lot of someone else’s money. It was natural he would end up conning his brother into spending money on this disaster. This show has been on for 10 years. And all they had to do was a dig a big damn hole and see if there’s anything in the ground. Now, if I was given a job of digging a big damn hole, and my boss came up to me 10 years later to ask about the progress, I sure as hell wouldn’t go: “Well, we started digging in the money pit like you asked. But then we wanted to do some sonaradalidar detection and analyze the fuck out of it for inferences to treasure. After that, a few random ass guys with history degrees from Fuck You University came to the island and told us we should dig in other spots. They thought the treasure was [Templar, English, Aztec, French, Portuguese, Pirates, Phoenician, Egyptian, Martian]. So we did that. Found nothing. Then, we drained the swamp near the money pit 3 or 4 times, spent millions on dynamite to scare all the birds away, all to try and get more inferences on what lies below the ground. We also fucked around looking for a dock, and found a stone road. In terms of digging in the money pit area, we drilled tiny fucking holes all over it. Enough to turn it into Swiss cheese. We thought a few times we ‘just came down the edge’ of something. But, instead of just moving a few inches over and drilling again, we went to a new spot, chosen at random and still found nothing. Oh, and we took a shit load of trips to Europe. Just to look at some old castles and carvings, none of which has anything to do with the drilling job.” No, I wouldn’t. I’d have been fucking fired years earlier. But that’s COI. Making the US bureaucracy seem efficient.
Ahem, so after we leave the quadrilateral, “later that afternoon” we go to the war room. I’m excited. Because it’s a meeting time, and we have this week’s tinfoil kook! This week, we have Francisco Nogueira from Portugal. I’m getting giddy and tingly. Not because of any revelations or theories that are going to solve the mystery, but we’re guaranteed some extreme fucking head nodding action. Let’s see what Francisco says. I should not that he speaks perfect English, but gets subtitled (yet, I still barely understand Gary). We’re told that the Azores is a key place for north Atlantic explorers. And then we get into some Templars, Baby B-roll. Clotworthy tells us the Templars went to Portugal, rebranded, and then took their treasure to North America. Makes sense to me! Francisco, who honestly sounds like a hostage reading the terrorists demands after 4 weeks of torture (definitely not from starvation, though) says the Portuguese Knights of Christ were exploring in the 15th and 16th centuries. Were shown some nodding and smiling from Simple Jack and Alex. Our Kook then says the “mysterious” wall is of Portuguese style. I don’t know what specific style he’s talking about. It’s a bunch of fucking rocks stacked on top of one another. I’m sure more civilizations other than the Portuguese knew how to stack rocks on top of each other. However, the revelation is enough to get Simple Jack to exclaim, “No way!” He’s got to be feeling good. After all, it was his detective work that found a big ass fucking tree next to the wall a few weeks ago. Francisco continues. Apparently, only the Portuguese would fill in gaps of a wall with small rocks. I guess this implies that Spain and France were the first to create glory holes. We get more dramatic nodding and amazement. It seems we’re going all in on Portugal now. Fuck off, Duc d'Anville, Francis Beacon, Sinclair, and Long John Silver (I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll get some mention soon). We’ll bring you all back in a few seasons when this shit falls apart and they find nothing. The revelation was enough to cue the dramatic music and a commercial break. Good. I don’t drink alcohol, but I’m going to go look for some cooking sherry or something to help me through this. If not, maybe I’ll inhale some Pam. If anything, it’ll help with this dry nose thing I have going on. I’ll turn the TV up so I can hear if there are any prescriptions I can ask my doctor about.
I found some ice cream and ate myself into an ice cream headache. But it kind of helped with the pain from banging my head int the desk earlier. We return to the war room with our chubby Portuguese kook. I guess his revelations were too much to conclude in one segment. Naturally, we get a recap of what we just heard 4 minutes ago. Because obviously everyone that watches this show has the attention span of a cat who snorted 8 lines of catnip. We’re now told that the Portuguese came to Oak Island, in secret. We get a few seconds of legitimate history regarding King Phillip II of Spain putting the hurt on Portugal. But then we quickly get into bs about missing treasure. And obviously, Portuguese went across the world and dumped it on Oak Island. Long story short, the Knights of Christ decided to put their precious treasure on a boat, sail across the Atlantic, and bury it on an island they never went to before. Dougie jumps in to give us some NSCC-level education about Templars. Never trust a Doug. Finally, Rick gives us one of his garbage corporate meeting wrap ups. And we’ve officially wasted about 10 minutes of show on this garble.
Later that afternoon (this is one fucking long day), we’re back at the quadrilateral. Rick has brought back more people. Spooner once again says the clay shouldn’t be here. And the clay and boulders were transported here. Personally, I think they found Samuel Ball’s septic tank. That’s my guess. Spooner pokes around and conveniently finds something sticking out of one of the sides of the hole. I don’t see Barkhouse, so I’ll assume whatever it is, he planted it like most other shit found on the island. It’s too much for us to comprehend, so another fucking commercial break is in order.
After several more commercials about plaque psoriasis plaguing this nation, we return to the big find. It’s a rusted piece of metal, shaped like a U. Gary claims it’s an iron staple. But this fuck has been wrong a few times this season. I’m guessing we’ll get some Carmen time soon. They keep digging.
The “following morning” we briefly see Scott and Dumbasses still looking for the Garden Shaft’s g-spot. Then we’re taken to the lab with, I guessed it, Carmen. Rick, Marty, and Craig are there. And Emma looks to be checking out Twitter or something. Let me just say, this whole “one day ago” is bull. Rick’s hair is longer and he has a lot more beard than he did “yesterday” afternoon. Carmen says the staple is used to help change the direction of rope and used with a pulley. The crew surmises this means the staple was used to get the boulders in the quadrilateral. Carmen says staples like that were used during medieval times. Clotworthy gives us a diatribe, but I tuned him out. Emma confirms the staple is old. Oh, and it seems she’s using Laird’s Microsoft account. Not cool, Emma. Miriam wouldn’t do that. Also, Prometheus forgot to blur out the date and time on the computer screen. Says 3:49pm. Morning my ass, Clotworthy. And another fucking commercial. I guess the commercials are good for people with overactive bladders. But, you can discover Gemtesa to help with your overactive bladder! Just it’ll give you every time else and likely kill you. Oh, and probably more bladder issues. But they’ll have a pill ready for that, too! Ahem…
We return to the lab. Clotworthy tells us it’s a medieval staple. Also, we are now to call the quadrilateral the “Great Quadrilateral”. I guess that’s an okay name for the hotel at the Treasure Zone.
“Later that afternoon”, we’re back out at the Garden Shaft. Scott failed to find the g-spot, so Rick and Craig have come out to help the Dumbasses probe for it. This obviously means were in for a big moment. A climax, if you will. We’re told that the g post was not found on the eastern wall. So they’re now going to look for it on the west. West sideee, baby. We get a little interview with Marty. He tells us that once they get to the bottom of the hole, they can start probing down and around to look for that g-spot. The Dumbass supervisor speculates that whoever first made the hole was in a rush. My experience with guys is that most are in a rush. This doesn’t surprise me one bit. Craig talks about his experience probing. Unfortunately, no g-spot found this week. And we’re not taken to “the next day” at the war room. I’m guessing this is where we’ll declare victory for the week. Time is running short. More head nodding? Let’s see!
The war room meeting is to get an update on the mysterious wall. Come to think of it, the wall reminds me more of that one from the end of the Shawshank Redemption. Only that wall had something valuable under one of its rocks. But, back to the meeting. We’re practically at all hands-on deck. Simple Jack is in his seat. You know he is revved up for this meeting after his tree discovery. Laird is asked to tell use more about the wall. He says it’s unique and we’re given a flashback of Laird, Miriam, and Alex digging up the wall a few weeks ago. Naturally, this whole scene was just to satisfy the thirsty Miriam-obsessed. Back in the war room, Craig gives us a date on the piece of charcoal found under the stone wall. The range is 1474-1638- Conveniently fitting into this week’s theory of Portuguese treasure. In fact, we’re told that “we know” Portuguese were in the area. I guess if it’s said on COI, it HAS to be true! Simple Jack can’t contain himself anymore and gives us a profound thought to think on for the rest of the week: people don’t build walls for no reason. Wow, Jack. Fucking wow. There’s an old saying that says it’s better to remain silent and appear stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Jack really should try that now and then. We’re given some more shit by NSCC Professor Doug about the Templars, and Rick says we need to keep an open mind until the facts say otherwise.
And that’s the show for this week. Thank Fucking God. I foolishly thought it would be fun to try this with JJ out. Fuck that. JJ, much respect to you. I don’t know how you do it. I’m amazed every week with your reviews/rants. After giving it a go myself, I’m even more perplexed how you get it done. But with that, I’m off to the 24-hour liquor store now. Peace!

2023.03.29 05:05 Fantastic_Beans Sometimes I wonder how I survived childhood

I grew up towards the end of the free range child era and with that comes a lot of stupid close calls stories. I just found this sub and it brought some of those memories back, so I thought I'd share!
Story #1
My parents bought a house at the very edge of a developing subdivision. Backing right up to our backyard was a cow field full of black angus steers. I assume those boys have long since been bought off the shelf at the meat section of a grocery store. Anyways, from time to time, a cow would figure out it could slip between the barbed wire and end roaming our neighborhood. A favorite past time of mine was to play cowboy and "herd" these thousand pound animals back into the pasture. I was probably 9 or 10 at the time. It's a wonder I never got my ass trampled.
Story #2
Well after a few years, the cows were moved and the pasture was opened up for further development. This meant that there were multiple construction sites wide open for us kids to explore with reckless abandon. My brother and I loved to play in the "quicksand" that formed after a heavy rain.
Let me explain. These construction sites were incredibly muddy due to the leveling that had to be done prior to houses being built. After a heavy rain, the mixture of mud and sand and water would form, well, quicksand. And I mean the real deal. If you stood in this stuff, you would sink. I recall one particular time where I managed to sink in as far as my waist and was having an absolute blast while my brother played rescue hero pulling me out. I remember the mud was like a suction cup once it had you. You couldn't pull someone straight out, you had to pull yourself horizontal and let someone else drag you out with a rope. We thought it was so cool, just like on TV! Yeah, it's a miracle, I tell you.
Story #3
As the development on the neighborhood continued, so did the placement of vital infrastructure. Namely sewer pipes. Yeah, you know where this is going. Miles of massive concrete pipes stretching underground in total darkness? "Sign me up!" Said kid me.
My brother and I would wander that sewage system on the days the workers had off. We were smart enough to leave a trail so we could find our way out again...just not smart enough to not crawl around in a sewer in the first place.
Story #4
On one of the few occasions I stayed in my own backyard, I happened upon this bush with nice, pink flowers that my mom had planted. My lil ADHD ass loved to pick leaves and crumble them up in my hand. Don't know why. My eyes set on my newest victim and I plucked one of the long, pointy leaves to crumble. It produced a clear, sticky sap that wouldn't come off my hands, so I did the most logical thing and licked it to clean it off. Yeah, kids are gross.
Well, to my horror and amazement, this sap was the most blood curdlingly bitter taste that my little taste buds ever did taste. So what did I do? I immediately found my brother and we competed to see who could lick the most bitter sap. What was the plant, you ask? Why, it was oleander, of course.
Story #5
I loved catching creepy crawlies in the garden. As a young kid, you could catch me tearing up the weed guard in mom's garden to see if there was anything cool living underneath. On one such occasion, I remember seeing, out of the corner of my eye, a little, white, wiggling worm.
I turned to stare at my latest find. I'd never seen anything like it. The way this worm danced in and out of the mulch, the way it's two heads flickered. I reached for it, wanting a closer look. Suddenly, there was a flash of white and then it came into focus. It wasn't a white worm. It was the flickering tongue of a cottonmouth viper. Fun fact: they're called cottonmouths because the inside of their mouths are white! They open their mouths and reveal the white inside when they feel threatened.
Story #6
Somehow surviving my adolescence, I ventured down to the beach for vacation one year. It was the evening, my parents were chilling in the spot they'd claimed, and I was screwing around by the tide. About 13 or 14 now, I considered myself quite the photographer. I picked up just about any critter I found to snap a selfy with. Crabs, sea urchins (yeah as if those weren't bad enough), and of course...shells.
I was amazed when I found this perfectly intact, cone shaped shell. It was so pretty, just like the ones sold in the gift shops! Oh, and there was a funny little snail guy inside! I peered at my new friend and took absolute delight in the little leg he prodded my hand with before I eventually tossed him back into the sea.
I found out years later. Yeah, cone snails don't have legs.
So that's all I got for now. I survived to adulthood, somehow, and now I'm a homebody with anxiety. Who woulda thought!

No experience necessary for the laborer custodial or maintenance mechanic positions. It helps on the interview but you can surely think of maintenance related experience to relay for an interview. Based on fixing things around your house, the car etc. Always mention working safely.

Pro tip: You can apply for any job that has an exam opening and the test is administered local to yourself. Make sure you're serious and score decently; you can turn down the job offer. Keep a physical copy of your exam score, I believe they are good for two years.
The reason is: These job postings can be posted externally at capacity for testing, meaning they will not allow you to take the exam if they have enough qualified applicants. However, if you have a test score on the books, you are a qualified applicant.

Explanation of MVO/TTO to save time:
MVO= CDL B Can only drive box trucks on public roads, can drive anything for moves on postal property.
TTO= CDL A Can drive anything.

USPS provides the training. (Maintenance jobs at least. TTO and management...GOOD LUCK)

You don't have to be crazy to work here. We'll train you. Everything but proper email usage.

2023.03.29 04:28 Timetraveler_2164 MASS KILLERS and possible LGBTQ QUESTIONING or GENDER CONFUSED connection

Ok, it’s time to touch the third rail. I want to talk about something that is really never mentioned when discussing mass shootings.
One of the reasons I think it never comes up is because everyone is so preoccupied with focusing on guns as the primary villain.
QUESTION: Is there a connection between LGBTQ questioning or Gender confused lifestyles and an increased propensity towards mass killing?
This really started for me after I read a post by someone telling conservatives to worry less about Trans books for 5 yr olds, and more about kids being killed in mass school shootings.
This hit close to home for me as my son was in a nearby class during the STEM Highlands Ranch school shooting, perpetrated by Trans Maya/Alec McKinney and gay/questioning Devon Erickson. I was the first parent at the school as I happened to be in the parking lot when the shooting began.
I had done some previous research because of what STEM was allowing and promoting in the school before the shooting occurred. Prior to the shooting it appeared as though the administration actively celebrated and encouraged alt lifestyles. Despite those efforts, the shooter still felt anger towards “normal kids” “because they never had to question who they were or feel the way she/he felt”
What I found during my research was eye opening to say the least.
DISCLAIMER This post is not stating that there IS a connection, this post is simply ASKING the question regarding a possible connection.
Apologies in advance for the very long post, but there is a lot of relevant information for each person.
I have separated the killers into two groups, Mass Killers and School Shooters.
MASS KILLERS
Charles Whitman Date: 1 August 1966 Age: 25 Location: University of Texas at Austin Location: Austin, Texas
17 Killed: 31 Wounded
On August 1, 1966, after stabbing his mother and his wife to death the previous night, Charles Whitman, a Marine veteran, took rifles and other weapons to the observation deck atop the Main Building tower at the University of Texas at Austin, and then opened fire indiscriminately on people on the surrounding campus and streets. Over the next 96 minutes he shot and killed 15 people, including an unborn child, and injured 31 other people. The incident ended when two policemen and a civilian reached Whitman and fatally shot him. Whitman had a very close relationship with a priest at the church he attended as a teenager.
Joseph Gilles Leduc was a priest under the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Leduc was the priest at the local church young Charles Whitman attended. Charles, who was his alter boy, was also in the scouting program Leduc helped to lead at the church. At 12, Whitman became the youngest ever to attain the status of Eagle Scout.
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston released records of priests, including Leduc, who were credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors during the time that Whitman was his alter boy.
Joseph Giles Leduc * Birth Year:1929 * Ordination:1955 * Status: Deceased 1981
Whitman stayed in contact with the priest even during his time in the military. After leaving the military he moved blocks away from Leduc and began spending time at the priest’s house.
Leduc presided over Whitman's very hasty marriage. Before his marriage Whitman wrote a letter to his fiancee, commenting that he hopes he's not a homosexual. There's also the fateful connection between Whitman's mass murders, just after Leduc's posting to Alaska.
His younger brothers Patrick also was an alter boy for years under Leduc. Patrick married and had two daughters before coming out as gay and acknowledging being abused.

Anders Breivik
Date: 22 July 2011 Age: 32 Location: Government building/summer camp Location: Oslo and Utoya, Norway
77 Killed: 319 Wounded
“After the attack, several people reported to the police that they had homosexual contact with Breivik (Borchgrevink, 2013, p. 143).
He felt threatened and contaminated by modern gender roles, complaining that he had been “femi- nized.” His masculinity was so fragile that “when his mother makes him ‘emotionally unstable’, then in a way she also turns him into a woman” (Borchgrevink, 2013, p. 178). “

Omar Mateen
Date: 12 June 2016 Age: 29 Location: Pulse Nightclub Orlando, Florida
49 Killed
“Mateen, who was killed by police during the rampage on the Pulse nightclub early on June 12, was gay according to a male who came forward afterwards. He described his relationship with Mateen as "friends with benefits." He said the sexual relationship lasted about two months, and they met at a hotel in Orlando between 15 and 20 times.
Men and women have come forward to the FBI claiming to have had a relationship with Mateen
A former classmate at Indian River Community College told the Palm Beach Post that Mateen went to gay bars with classmates and once tried to pick him up. Four regulars at Pulse, the nightclub where the shooting occurred, told the Orlando Sentinel they had seen Mateen there before.
Ex-Wife Says Orlando Shooter Might Have Been Hiding Homosexuality From His Family
The man who killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Omar Mateen, was a regular patron of gay clubs in Florida for years, club employees, acquaintances and former classmates told ABC News.
Orlando gunman had used gay dating app and visited LGBT nightclub on other occasions, witnesses say.”

John Wayne Gacy
33 killed
“John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in Norwood Park Township, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.”
The murders were described as “bizarre sex slayings”, and “gay sex-murders”.
——————————————
Jeffrey Dahmer
17 killed
Dahmer—also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal and the Milwaukee Monster—was an American serial killer and sex offender who murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area between 1978 to 1991.
Dahmer came out as gay for the first time to a judge in 1989 after he was convicted of sexual assault and enticing a child for immoral purposes, according to the Don Davis’ 1992 biography The Milwaukee Murders: Nightmare in Apartment 213: the Twisted True Story of the “Real-life Hannibal Lecter.”
He was known as a homosexual and part of Milwaukee’s gay community.

SCHOOL SHOOTERS
Adam Lanza Date: 14 December 2012 Age: 20 School: Sandy Hook Elementary School Location: Newtown, Connecticut
26 killed
“Even though he communicated with people online, he did not have any friends. Regarding romance and sexuality, Lanza himself was at a loss: “I’m pretty confused when it comes to my sexuality” (Cole- man, 2015, p. 6). He had homosexual content on his computer and wrote at length about pedophilia, defending the practice but denying he was a pedophile. His sexual identity also seems enigmatic. In completing a form for college, on the item about gender, Lanza wrote, “I choose not to answer””(Goldstein, 2013, para. 2).

——————————————
Eric Houston Date: 1 May 1992 Age: 20 School: Lindhurst High School Location: Oliverhurst, California
4 Killed
“He was confused about his sexual identity. A photograph of Houston at approximately 3 years of age shows him wearing a dress. Houston’s middle name was Christopher and on the back of the photo is written, “See, daddy, Chris was a good girl. You never believe he’s a boy” (California v. Houston, 2008, p. 100). This is a confusing message, and if Houston was only 3 (and developmentally delayed), then he would not have been the one to write the message. The potential impact of this may be seen in Houston’s obsession with the military, weapons, and SWAT teams as soon as he hit puberty. He may have sought out these masculine interests to compensate for his confused gender identity. Adding further complications, Houston was molested during high school by a male teacher. The molestations reportedly tore skin on his penis and caused bruising and painful urination (California v. Houston, 2007). The molestation raised profound questions for Houston about his sexuality. He experimented with homosexual contacts and blamed his teacher for his homosexual feelings.”

Eric Hainstock Date: 29 Sep 2006 Age: 15 School: Weston High Location: Cazenovia, Wisconsin 1 Killed
He was allegedly upset that Weston High School’s principal, John Klang, had done nothing to stop other students from teasing him about his sexuality.

Maya / Alec McKinney Age 16 Devon Erickson. Age 18 Date: 7 May 2019 School: STEM Highlands Ranch Location: Highlands Ranch, Colorado 1 Killed 8 wounded
Maya /Alec McKinney is Trans
“McKinney said he planned to target two students in particular as they had bullied and ridiculed him due to his gender identity and called him disgusting. McKinney said that "he wanted the kids at the school to experience bad things, have to suffer from the trauma like he has had to in his life." McKinney also stated he has heard voices and has suffered from homicidal and suicidal thoughts since the age of 12, and refused to take medication so that he wouldn't feel alone.”
“Alec McKinney that he had been sexually abused when he was 7 years old.”

Other Mass Killers outside the United States
Bruce McArthur
He was a homosexual and part of Toronto’s LGBTQ+ community.
8 killed. Toronto 2010-2017
Dennis Nilsen
Homosexual
12 killed. London 1978-1983
It is obviously an oversimplification to attempt to reduce, or attribute, any of the above crimes to any single causation, or even rudimentary mix of causation variables. However there are obvious commonalities that cannot be ignored.
Obviously, in ways that do not disparage the LGBTQ+ communities, society must be able to ask basic questions regarding ANY potential correlation between the above crimes and ANY behavior or lifestyle.
QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ASKED; Q1-Based on percentage of population, do LGBTQ questioning or gender confused individuals commit mass killings at a rate that is higher than the NON-LGBTQ questioning or gender confused population?
I don’t know the answer, but we should certainly find out.
Q2-Does living an alternative lifestyle, like LGBTQ+, outside the “norms” of society, lead to increase feelings of being different, isolated, confused, self loathing, unaccepted, angry etc.
Again, I don’t know the answer, but we need to find out, and if it does, then people are probably justified in spending time worrying about Trans and LGBTQ+ alternative lifestyle books being read to 5 yr olds.

2023.03.29 04:09 NotPraisedNotABother Hope is a Heart-Killer

This story contains existential material some readers may find distressing. Please be advised.

Nine o'clock on the dot on a Sunday morning, James Newton put on his suit and tie—tweed and checkered yellow, the ones he wore to his parents' funeral—and spent fifteen minutes in front of the mirror psyching himself up. "Come on, James," he urged his reflection. "A miracle, that's what you need. Gimme a miracle, somethin' that'll make this whole thing go away!"
He told himself that, and he got excited for the good news he would surely receive, and he got ready to go out the door. Three times he did this, and right as his hand touched the knob, he suddenly found he had to go back for another go at it.
Eventually, though, there was only so much psyching up he could muster. He finally left his apartment, walked down many flights of stairs, and got on his way walking down the street to his appointment.
It was a beautiful day. The sky was clear of any clouds or smog, a rare thing indeed, and the sun was merrily shining. Birds chirped, though their song was somewhat obscured by the roar of passing aeromobiles as they zipped by in the skyways. Below, where roads were needed no longer, the people were out and about on the promenade in their Sunday best, going about their business and having a grand old time.
James fit right in, a smile plastered on his face and a nod for everyone he passed. He swung his arms easily and let his gait fall into a comfortable strut, and no one would suspect a thing was wrong; no sir, no one at all.
James' path took him right into the heart of the city, where buildings rose to two and even three stories tall, brick-built all of them, with a marble state building here and a library there, and the sky was filled with aeromobiles. Trees grew in their little holes in the center of the promenades, and small gardens and parks littered the places where parking lots used to be. A flock of pigeons pecked at the ground around the garbage bin for people's leftovers. James scattered some crumbs from his pocket that he'd prepared just for them. "Good will to all the world!" he said heartily to the flying rats. "Good will, or who knows what might happen? Ha ha!"
His destination was a private practice in the middle of a lot park, fenced in with a tree in each corner, ferns and vines imported from somewhere stretching from leafy branch to leafy branch. The building itself was brick, of course (God's chosen building material, that), and space enough for only one corridor and three rooms—a waiting room, the good doctor's office, and the operating room. Humility was all anyone needed these days, and by God the owner of this establishment was practically drowning in it.
James pushed through the glass door into the waiting room with gusto. "Morning, Caroline!" he greeted the secretary by her desk. "I'm here for my appointment!"
She smiled up at him. Caroline was a sweetheart to be sure. "Hello Mister Newton," she told him. "The doctor's in if you want to get to it. You know he doesn't have anyone else to see."
"That I do, miss, that I do." James unbuttoned his suit and went to hang it on the coatrack in the corner. "Don't mind if I leave my jacket here, do you, Miss Caroline?"
"Please do!"
"Thaaank you kindly." James cleared his throat. "I'll just be on my way back then!" He stepped back into the corridor and strode to the good doctor's office with a whistlin' tune and readjusting his tie. Good thoughts, James, he reminded himself. Good thoughts and good will only, and you're sure to get good news in return!

"I'm terribly sorry, Mister Newton." The good doctor's voice was tinny and cool as his steel exterior. "Your diagnosis has not changed. I predict you have six months to live, possibly less."
James couldn't look at him. He couldn't look anywhere 'cept the linoleum beneath his best brown dress shoes. The ones he wore to his parents' funeral.
He didn't know if he could speak. He tried anyway. "I thought—" He swallowed the frog in his throat. "I thought I was gettin' better."
The good doctor leaned forward across his desk, his metal hands folded in front of him. "Mister Newton, I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that your chances were good, even probable. The truth is that very few people with your diagnosis live long after symptoms begin to appear, and you are well on your way to showing symptoms. I believe you were told—"
"I remember," James said hoarsely. He chanced a look at the wall to his left, then had to look away again. It had a poster of a cat hanging to a branch that said, Hang in there! in a speech bubble. It didn't make him feel better.
He tried looking at the good doctor instead. That was a mistake as well; James couldn't help it, and he knew it weren't fair, but something about the doctor's unmoving expression and cold lamplit eyes gave him the chills something awful.
He looked back down at his shoes. "What can I— what can I expect?" His voice wobbled. "Is it gonna hurt? When the symptoms start showing up?"
"Oh, I imagine so," the good doctor replied. He stood and went to pull a projector screen from its holster in the ceiling, as wide as man's wingspan. The doctor touched something at the top, and graphs and timelines filled the screen. It was one of those special screens; the ones that didn't need light shining on them to show pictures.
"See here," the doctor said, pointing to one of the graphs. "Around this time, about a week from now I'd say if my projections hold, your throat will begin to constrict and lose some of its elasticity, making it harder to breath and swallow food and drink. It will only take a week more before you're completely unable to do either. I suggest seeking hospice before then, the medical professionals should be more than capable of providing equipment that can ease the burden on your body to perform these functions. During this time, however, you'll have these symptoms to start looking out for as well…"
The good doctor's voice blurred and became background noise. James clenched his hands tighter and tighter together between his knees as the robot droned on and on about the terrible, painful things he would endure before he finally died.
Good things, James, he thought to himself desperately. Good will and good news will come to you eventually. Good will and good news will…
But the good doctor just kept droning on.

The drink plunked down on the bar before him. "There you are, chum, your fifth Molly's Got It All of the night! You sure are looking to forget something fierce, aren't ya?"
James pushed up his head and looked at the robot serving drinks at an awkward angle. The bartender's voice was just as unnatural as the good doctor's; only, where the doctor was cool and neutral even with a scalpel in hand and a terminal diagnosis in his processor, the bartender was painfully, infinitely cheerful.
He took his drink and swallowed half of it. "Thanks barkeep," James slurred. "Y' really know how to take care of a guy." He sluggishly raised his glass in celebration, but the bartender had already moved on to the next customer, that tinny, unnatural cheer stabbing James' ears.
He shook his head and scoffed into his glass before he took another drink. Good news and good news and good news.
"Bartender's right," a voice to his left said. A human voice, teasing. "You really are lookin' to forget."
James listed that way and looked at the person up and down. The lady was dressed in oversized overalls, big black construction boots and a button-up beneath it all, flatcap pushing her unruly curls into submission. Construction worker chic. She had a smile on her face just shy of a smirk.
James looked for a moment more before grunting and turning back to his drink. "I got my diagnosis back today," he said, not caring who heard. "I'm on my way south."
"Aw, shoot," the woman said sympathetically. "Well that's too bad, I'm sorry to hear it."
"Yeah." James polished off the last half of his drink and raised his hand to get the bartender's attention. "Same thing that killed my daddy." And my mama, he added in his head, but she din't have the same disease. Naw, it was his daddy dying from it that killed her. She couldn't live without him.
"Nothing the doc can do?" the woman asked gently as the bartender came over.
"Naw." James ordered another Molly's Got It All. Dangerous, he knew, but he was already going to die, so he might as well splurge. No one to take care of at home, no one to take care of him, so he din't have to care.
"You be sure to drink some water now, friend," the barkeep said even as he made a new drink and set it before James. "You're deep in your cups now."
"Yeah, yeah." James waved the bartender away and sipped from his sixth Molly before realizing the woman was still looking at him. "What?" The question came out ruder than he meant.
Her eyes sparkled in the low-key bar light. "I find you interesting." Her smirk stretched into a smile of the same kind.
James flushed. He liked her attention, but… "Sorry," he said, looking into his cup. "I don't think you want to get mixed up with me. Dying and all."
"Oh, who said anything about anything?" the woman dismissed. She scooted her stool closer to James' and leaned her chin on her hands, looking at him with that smile of hers. "Annabelle," she introduced herself, "if you'd like to know. And if you'd want to return the favor…" she trailed off expectantly.
James flushed deeper and found himself smiling back. "Jem—" He cleared his throat and tried to focus his drunken brain. "I'm James." He thrust his hand towards her for a handshake without thinking about it and felt stupid.
Annabelle looked at his hand with raised eyebrows, then took his hand in hers and shook it. "It's very nice to meet you, Mister James," she said in a serious tone. It was the twinkle in her eyes what betrayed her. "Now why don't you tell me what's going on?"

They talked for hours after that. Well, James talked, mostly, but whenever he tried to direct a question at Annabelle she returned the prompt to him, asking a deeper, more thoughtful question than a heavily inebriated man could come up with, so of course he went along with her. They talked so late nearly everyone else had gone, but there were no closing hours courtesy of the barkeep, so there was no rush. James couldn't get anymore Mollys after a time, though, owing to the alcohol limit law programmed in the bartender's processor and all.
But he didn't care. He was enthralled with Annabelle and her thoughtful questions and her genuine interest in him. At least, she seemed genuine, but James was too drunk to tell. All he knew was that it felt nice to have someone to talk to, finally.
And he did talk a lot. He told Annabelle things he hadn't told anybody, alcohol loosening his lips. He talked about his mama and his daddy, his childhood home out in the boonies where they didn't have no aeromobiles or robot doctors, his friends growing up and the games they used to play. He talked about school, and neighbors, and hopes and dreams, and sorrows, too.
He told her about his parents' deaths. That wasn't the first or last time he'd cried that night. He told her about his daddy's affliction, the thing what put him in the grave, and the thing that would put him there too. "It was so hard, watchin' him those last few days," James said, wiping at his eyes with his sleeve. "He couldn't get out of bed, with all those tubes in him and what not, and he couldn't talk, obviously, and Mama couldn't stand it either even if she didn't say so, but the doctors said, they always said, 'It's our oath to help people, ma'am, if there's even a percent of a chance we can save them.'" He shook his head. "My mama used to say to that, she used to say," he gave a snort of amusement, "'doctors: they're gonna help you, even if it kills you.'"
Annabelle smiled at that and rubbed his back. She'd gotten real close to him over the night's conversation. So close James could feel her there even when he wasn't lookin'. It made him flush and blush and gave him the butterflies, the amount of attention she was giving him. Thoughts of his impending demise were banished by her wonderful smile.
He didn't want her to go away. He didn't want to think about death again. "Hey," he said hesitantly, wondering if his request was appropriate. "D'you think… well, do you think we could—"
Annabelle smiled wider and put a hand on his arm and gave it a squeeze. "Honey, I was thinking the exact same thing." She patted his hand. "Just let me freshen up in the ladies' room and we can get going, yeah?"
James' heart leapt into heaven. He agreed enthusiastically, and Annabelle slipped off her stool and went into the back to the ladies' restroom, leaving James by himself positively brimming with joy.
Ten minutes went by. Then fifteen. Then twenty.
James started to get anxious. He wanted to go and check on her, but, well, was that too much? The bartender asked him if he wanted to pay his bill, but James distractedly said he'd pay while he was heading out with Annabelle.
Thirty minutes passed. Forty.
"Y'know," he said aloud, mostly to himself as he got up from his seat, "I think I will check on her, y'know, in case something happened to her." He wouldn't go in, obviously, but he could always knock, right? So James went to the back of the bar and knocked on the door to the ladies' room. "Annabelle? You okay in there?"
There was no answer.
James' fear peaked. "Barkeep," he called, "can you check the ladies' room with your sensors? I think my friend might be hurt."
The metal man behind the bar looked up from the glass he was polishing. "I'm sorry, mate, I didn't want to say anything according to how much I saw you enjoying her company, but I'm pretty sure your lady friend up and booked it from my establishment almost an hour ago. My scanners are only picking up one body signature, and that's yours." Analytical words, all spoken with the stupid cheer of an empty-headed tin man.
Fear became disappointment. "You sure?" James asked, hoping against hope.
"Scanners don't lie!" the bartender replied.
Peachy. Just excellent. Good news and good news, James thought bitterly. Crestfallen, he slumped back to the bar and sighed, "Guess I'll pay my bill, then."
"Right-o!" The bartender whipped over to the cash register and waited for James to sullenly follow him there.
He reached into his suit pocket. Then his other one.
Where was his wallet?
"Something the matter?" the bartender pipped.
James couldn't handle the robot's overly happy voice right now. "Yes, just—give me a moment," he nearly growled, reaching inside his suit jacket to the pocket there.
Nothing. He patted his pants and the back of his pants. Nothing. James crouched low to look at the ground beneath his stool and nothing. "I—" He didn't know what to say. He'd had his wallet walking in. Had to; needed his worker card to get served. Where could it have—
By now the alcohol had worn off enough that James could mostly use his brain. He put two and two together and realized what had happened. "I'm sorry, but I think my wallet was stolen," he told the bartender, stricken. He hadn't noticed; but of course he hadn't noticed. He'd been drunk. Very drunk. And Annabelle had known that, if that was even her real name.
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that!" Again, the unnatural cheer, especially considering his next words. "And I'm sorry to say that if you can't pay, I'll have to be calling the sheriffs!"
"What?" James stared at the bartender. "I can't just open a tab and pay it off later?"
"Sorry, no can do!" The robot was already moving towards the rotary phone on his side of the bar. "My processor isn't powerful enough to retain information longer or more complicated than my regulars' names and the laws I was programmed with, and I'm afraid I wasn't programmed to read or write! If you want to blame anyone, blame the Howie Blayton Manufacturing Company!"
Good news and good news and good news. James felt a horrible sinking feeling in his stomach. Stranded in the local detainment center while his body collapsed in on itself? No way!
"Hey there officer!" the bartender said brightly into the transmitter. "I'd like to report a miscreant here at—hey, where are you going?"
The door was already closing behind James as he fled into the night.

He ran until he was sweating through his nice tweed suit and breathing so heavy he wheezed. He hadn't made it as far as he would have just weeks ago. It felt like his throat was caving in.
James looked around. He was standing on a little bridge that spanned a creek to a forest path, an overgrown jungle of a place. The grass was so long it hung from the lip of the creek bed to the still water below.
He was still in the heart of the city, but the roar of aeromobile traffic was far away. He must be at the edge of one of the city's massive replanting projects.
He sat down heavily on the bridge, letting his legs dangle. Good news, his mama always said. Good thoughts and good will, and good news will come to you. She said that while daddy was sick in bed and she sat by his side. She never left his side, really. James had had to work double shift at his delivery job just to keep things afloat, there.
And now he was soon to be right where his daddy was, and no one like his mama would be there for him.
James thought he had cried all he could cry that night, but tears began to form in his eyes and spill down his cheeks nonetheless. He put his face in his hands and let the sobs wrack his aching throat once again.
As he cried, a secret memory unearthed itself in James' mind. It was a memory from long ago, back when his daddy was dying, on one of the rare moments his mama left to go to her job and take care of things on her own instead of relying on James. James, like his mama, barely left his daddy's side when he could manage it.
And on that day, while his mama was far away, James watched as his daddy suddenly began to thrash and writhe, flinging the tubes in his mouth and his stomach and his private parts every which way, his eyes rolled back in his head. Little ten-year-old James didn't know whether his daddy was awake or half-comatose, but he knew he was scared, and he couldn't be scared. Scared weren't a good thought, and James needed to think good thoughts.
So he tried to calm his daddy by telling him how brave he was, how everything was gonna be alright and mama would be home any minute—but his father couldn't hear him.
"Shauna!" his daddy shouted, voice obscured by the tube jammed down his throat. "James! I can't see, Goddammit—Shauna! Shauna, where are you?!"
James was terrified. He reached to grab his daddy's hand before remembering that he couldn't touch him 'cause it would hurt him. "Daddy," James cried. "Daddy, it's alright, I'm here!"
"Shauna! Shauna!" Tears were rolling down Daddy's cheeks, his unseeing eyes staring terrified at the ceiling. "Shauna!" he sobbed. "Shauna, I'm scared! I'm scared!"
"No!" James shouted over his daddy. "No, you can't say that, daddy, good thoughts! Only good thoughts, you gotta—"
His father's thrashing grew more violent as he continued to be unable to hear his son. One of the tubes lashed James across the face, and he fell to the ground screaming. On the floor, James could only see the writhing blankets and the occasional flash of a hand, all while his daddy sobbed and screamed like a child having a nightmare he couldn't wake up from.
Mama came home to find James sobbing on the floor and her husband dead under the covers.
A secret memory, and a secret fear. James remembered the terror on his daddy's face as he died. He remembered his father's blindness, his father's deafness, all caused by his disease. He remembered his father, unable to be touched, machines surrounding him, nothing anyone could do for him.
James remembered his daddy crying for his wife, unable to tell that his son was right next to him. Even with someone there, his daddy had died alone.
Alone. And there was nothing anyone could do.
James clutched at his hair and breathed through gritted teeth. He didn't want to die alone. He moaned in fear, his teeth chattered, he rocked himself back and forth on the edge of that little bridge. He didn't want to die alone.
But he would. Even if he wasn't, he would die alone, and all the good intentions and good thoughts in the world wouldn't save him. Everyone dies alone. No one can share in your last moments, even if they're right next to you. No one will know, even if they care so much for you they'd die without you. You're trapped in your head until the bitterest end.
James wailed and beat at his legs with his fists and screamed at the unfairness. He didn't want to die alone!
"I don't want to die alone!" he shouted into the night. The night did not respond.
He continued to sob and scream and wail, all alone.

2023.03.29 04:01 Oaknash Puppy activities?

Hi all! Just adopted a 5-month old terrier (~10lbs) as my companion and he’s learning so much every day. We’re taking an obedience training class, and I’d like to further socialize him with smaller dogs and (growing) puppies.
While we’ll definitely be doing Carmel beach outings, he’s a little timid of larger and bolder dogs, so I want to gradually increase our exposure to such experiences.
Anyone have recommendations for social puppy places? Dog parks for smaller dogs? Any public puppy events (eg puppy beach walks)?
Ps: incredible thanks to this community for helping me navigate end-of-life care for my aging pup earlier this year. One of my favorite aspects about the peninsula is everyone’s affinity for dogs. ❤️
