[24 M] Looking for a used car with 6-8 cyl engine, somewhat reliable, 4 doors, handles well, 350+ hp with tuning potential upto 500-550 hp(I want a 500+ hp car in the end), something car people will appreciate and looks good for under $50k USD(before mods). Year 2008-2019. What are my options? Brands : Bmw, audi, Mercedes benz, lexus, genesis, ford, dodge, kia, Cadillac, alfa romeo, jaguar.

2023.03.28 20:08 syxbit BMW X7 avg mpg is 21. Q7 avg mpg is 14. Audi is WAY behind BMW on their 3.0l engine, and are also no longer investing in ICE.

I have Audi's supercharged 3.0, and love it. I test drove the new 3.0 turbo, and hated it. Turbo lag, and shockingly, even worse MPG. Why did Audi change it only to make it worse?
Maybe it's cheaper to have all your engines use turbos. Maybe it's for emissions. I don't know.
All I know is that I hate the new 3.0 turbo engine. Not only do I hate how it drives, but it's worse on metrics too. Slower, turbo lag, and less reliable. Every Audi mechanic I've spoken to says the Audi 3.0SC plus 8ZF HP plus crown quattro is a bullet proof combination. (There are several threads on this here with AMA from Master Audi mechanics).
Now new Audi's have a worse engine, worse transmission (at least from a reliability standpoint), and are losing real quattro (with their front biased garbage new quattro). Why???
With Audi saying they're no longer innovating on ICE, and all their money is on electric, this isn't getting fixed. :(.
I've driven Audis for ~15 years. I'm thinking I'm just going to wait for electric cars to take over so I can still buy Audi while skipping over the ICE mess. Lucikly I have an A6 3.0T with ZF8HP and Crown quattro, so it will last!
